Englewood, Fl—Once upon a time a person was able to work an honest job, raise a family and save up enough money to buy a little bit of heaven. This little bit of heaven that so many Americans saved up for was known as retirement—a time in a persons life where they could afford to stop working, purchase a house in Florida, and relax under the warm sun. This dream is not so obtainable anymore. In recent times senior communities like Lemon Bay Isles, in Englewood, have felt the crack of a bad economies whip, forcing residents to sell their old cars and take up post-retirement jobs at places like Wal-Mart. Not to long ago Residents could not walk down the street early in the afternoon without seeing their neighbors riding their bicycles, or partaking in other leisurely activities, now you can shoot a shuffleboard puck down the street without hit anybody. Where have all the seniors gone? Most probably back to work. These pictures show an abandoned part of the American dream.
